20 BEES
BACO NOIR VQA
In a little shop in the Niagara Peninsula, a group of the region’s finest grape growers gathered to make plans for their own winery.

Their goal was simple: To nurture their vines, harvest their grapes, and produce great-tasting, unpretentious wines at an unpretentious price. 20 Bees is the fruit of their labour. A wonderful wine created from the soil to the glass by 19 growers and 1 chief winemaker:

20 Bees!

RECOMMENDATION: This wine works well with sharp cheeses, tomato based dishes and grilled meats.

TASTING NOTE: This dark ruby red wine shows classic Baco Noir aromas of plum, raisin, and slight tones of cedar. The palate had a medium to full body with refreshing acidity and smooth tannins. The dark fruit flavours extend to the soft cedary finish.

WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS: This wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fine fruit qualities our Baco Noir had to offer in 2005. The wine has been slightly oaked to add complexity while also keeping in the fresh fruit characters that we have worked so hard to establish.

BILLY'S BEST BOTTLES: Rustic/Lively  "Tart, invigorating wine for those who enjoy some bite in their reds. An edge like Bob Dylan. A trip to the backwoods. With a burger, of course."
