20 BEES
CABERNET MERLOT VQA
In a little shop in the Niagara Peninsula, a group of the region’s finest grape growers gathered to make plans for their own winery.

Their goal was simple: To nurture their vines, harvest their grapes, and produce great-tasting, unpretentious wines at an unpretentious price. 20 Bees is the fruit of their labour. A wonderful wine created from the soil to the glass by 19 growers and 1 chief winemaker:

20 Bees!

GRAPES: Cabernet Sauvignon

ALC./VOL.: 12.2%

SUGAR: 0

SIZE: 750 ml.

RECOMMENDATION: This wine works well with veal dishes or antipasto with prosciutto.

TASTING NOTE: This medium crimson coloured wine has herbaceous aromas with black cherry and eucalyptus. The palate is medium bodied with hints of red berry fruit and a lovely leafy character. The smooth tannins and soft acid lead to the fruit driven finish.

WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS: This wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fine fruit qualities our Cabernet-Merlot had to offer in 2005. The wine has been only slightly oaked to add complexity while also keeping in the fresh fruit characters that we have worked so hard to establish.

BILLY'S BEST BOTTLES: Rustic/Lively  "Tart, lively, fruity and a bit challenging. The same pure expression as the other Bees. Lightly chill and gulp for early evening refreshment. Similar in spirit to reds from the Loire Valley in France - another cool climate."
