HARDYS 'BANKSIDE' SHIRAZIn 1853 Thomas Hardy, the founder of Hardys wines, bought a large block of land alongside the banks of the Torrens River, three miles west of Adelaide, South Australia. It was here that he built Hardys' Bankside Cellars. Sadly, the cellars were destroyed by fire in 1905. This wine is a tribute to Thomas Hardy's first cellar which is depicted through an original photograph on the front label. |

RECOMMENDATION: Perfect with full flavoured foods including duck, lamb and beef, especially when cooked rare to medium. Try with aged cheeses. WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS: Through inter-regional blending and by using a variety of winemaking techniques the wine has achieved greater complexity, balance, personality and character. The wine shows excellent structure, texture and length, all of which support the generosity of fruit flavours exhibited on the nose and palate. It is approachable now but will soften and become more expressive with time in bottle. Full bodied yet elegant. Spicy and concentrated. **Vintages Essential in Ontario** For more information, visit the Hardy Wine Company website. |
