RECOMMENDATION: This wine can be enjoyed with a range of
full flavoured foods including duck, lamb and beef. Best enjoyed while young.
WINEMAKERS COMMENTS: The grapes
for this wine were sourced from a variety of South Australias premium wine regions
resulting in a complex and lush wine. A range of fermentation techniques including static,
vinomatic and open fermentation has also enhanced the wines complexity. Careful
pressing and blending ensures that the wine has an abundance of soft tannins and richness.
This wine was made with the primary objective of emphasizing the wines fruit
flavours while the introduction of oak plays a supporting role.
TASTING NOTES: The colour is a deep
brick red with youthful purple hues. The bouquet has fragrant aromas of raspberries, red
cherries, musk and white pepper which are complemented by subtle oak. The overall palate
impression is one of generosity and richness of flavour, combined with the warmth, length,
and softness of mouthfeel. Flavours of cherry, plum, mint, white pepper and spice persist
on the long finish.
