RECOMMENDATION: Easy, everyday meals like pizza, spaghetti with meat sauce, BBQ chicken, steaks and hamburgers.

DESCRIPTION: Joel Peterson and Reed Foster crushed their first vintage in 1976, and in order to create and define their own style from start, they employed then-radical (at least in California) techniques such as small, open-topped fermenters, native yeast strains, hand-punching of caps during fermentation, and extended skin macerations.  Not only did they quickly define the Ravenswood style of Zinfandel, but they created a fanatical fan following in the process.

TASTING NOTES:  Delightfully fruit forward and crafted to be enjoyed young.  Careful selection and blending of small lots of fruit from across California consistently results in a well-structured wine with charming, spicy "Zin" fruit and character.
